For more than two decades Leo Cookman has been creating and critiquing popular media. He is the author of the thriller novella I’ll Play the Hunter and the short story collection Thumbnail Nightmares. His poetry is published in Penguin's Poetry of Sex anthology, Zero Books' Other People's Politics, Puppywolf's Best of Manchester Poets, and magazines like Ladybeard, Lucky Pierre, The Adriatic, Zeno Press and All Ears among others. As a critic, he is the author of Time's Lie: The Narrativisation of Life, from Zero Books, a featured writer for Philosophy Now magazine, Hong Kong Review of Books and Everyday Analysis and has worked as script writer and researcher for YouTube channels like Wisecrack and Pumpkin Metal.
As a musician and multi-instrumentalist he has recorded and released 10 albums of his own material and worked on many others.
